School Newspaper
Through providing our pupils with various ‘Roles and Responsibilities’ across school, we develop our pupils to be responsible, respectful and active citizens who are able to play their part and become actively involved in public life as adults. This year, we have a new role and responsibility for our pupils. Our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils were offered the opportunity to apply for the position of journalists and after a tough application process (which included a letter of application and interview), we now have a School Newspaper Team!
Our School Newspaper Team meet on a weekly basis to produce our half-termly newspapers which are advertised and sold to pupils, parents/carers, staff and members of the community. Watch out for our next issue!
Exciting News
We have exciting news! A huge congratulations to our School Newspaper Team (Golborne’s Latest) who entered the ‘First News School Newspaper of the Year Awards’ and have won first place! We are now officially the ‘Primary School Newspaper of The Year 2021-2022’. We will soon feature in a special edition of First News and on their website: https://schools.firstnews.co.uk/blog/journalistic-writing/school-newspaper-of-the-year-competition-2022/. A trophy for our cabinet is also on its way!
