Our school is committed to delivering high-quality education and prioritises pupils attending school in person wherever possible. Remote education will only be used as a last resort, when attendance at school is not possible but pupils are well enough to continue learning at home.
Remote education may be provided in two broad circumstances: during school closures or restrictions on attendance, where access to the school site is limited, or in individual caseswhere a pupil is unable to attend school in person but can still engage with learning.
When remote education is required, learning may be delivered through school-led, pre-recorded lessons, or by signposting pupils and parents/carers to high-quality online video lessonsdeveloped by trusted external providers, such as Oak National Academy. This approach ensures pupils can continue to access meaningful learning and stay connected to their education until they are able to return to school.

Access to Remote Learning
The school will work proactively to overcome barriers to digital access by auditing pupils’ access to devices and internet connectivityas part of our wider emergency planning. This helps us identify and respond to any gaps in access as quickly as possible.
Where necessary and feasible, the school may distribute school-owned devices to support remote learning. Any devices issued will be accompanied by a user agreement or contract to ensure appropriate and safe use.
If digital access is not available, or where remote learning would not otherwise be accessible, the school will seek to ensure equal access to education by providing printed learning resources, supported by other suitable forms of communication between the school and pupils, such as regular check-ins or guidance for families.
We recognise that some pupils, for example those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), may not be able to access remote education without support from adults at home. We acknowledge the difficulties this may place on families and will work with parents and carers to provide support.
