Throughout the year, as a school, we support various charities and fundraising events as we develop our pupils to be responsible, respectful and active citizens with a sense of moral obligation to support those around them.

As we do each year, we supported this charity once again by bringing in donations to send to the charity.Our school looked cosy and colourful today as we joined together in our pyjamas to support Children in Need! A huge thank you to everyone for their amazing efforts to help make a difference.
During Anti Bullying Week, all the children and staff in school came in wearing odd socks to demonstrate how we are all unique and that is what makes us special. The children also explored how to be a kind friend and what to do if and when someone is not kind to them.
As the children do annually across school they brought in donations to support the Poppy Appeal. In addition, in Early Years the children completed challenges linked to creating their very own poppies showing their respect to all who served.
The children across school supported the charity MacMillan Cancer by taking part in our annual Fun Run, running a mile for the charity, creating their own MacMillan badges plus they took part in our annual coffee morning which we celebrated again our with parents/carers.
The chidlren across school decorated a range of baked goods and had a bake sale to raise funds for the charity Comic Relief on the 16th March. The chidlren also brought in donations to help others and these were taken to The Brick in Wigan.
The children across the school came to school wearing their Christmas jumper to support the charity Save the Children.
As a school, we would like to thank you all for your kind donations for both the global charity, ‘Operation Christmas Child’ and for the local charity ‘Santa for a Senior’. Both charities have shared their gratitude for your kind donations and we know they will be greatly received over the festive period by both generations, within the local area and across the world.
As we do each year, we supported this charity once again. We explored the theme ‘Together, we can change young lives’. The whole school went ‘Spotacular’ for ‘#ChildrenInNeed’ and joined thousands of people wearing something spotty. The children also brought in kind donations totaling £267.83 and took part in various activities to improve their awareness around the issues, linking to ‘Children in Need’ and how to seek support and be there for others.
In November, we celebrated Anti-Bullying Week. The day provided an opportunity to celebrate our no tolerance to bullying culture, in a fun and positive way. Throughout the day on Monday, the children participate in a class assembly to recap on the definition of bullying. We focused on the school’s seven step approach, in which strategic meetings with both parties involved take place to resolve and monitor incidents of bullying that have occurred. This policy is on the school website.
Every child participated in a Fun Run and ran one mile to raise money for this wonderful charity. We also held our annual ‘Macmillan Coffee Morning’ in which it was great to see so many of our parents/carers and children supporting this fantastic fundraiser. Thank you to all the parents, carers, families and friends who attended – your generosity was greatly appreciated and we raised an amazing £1072.61.
The whole school thoroughly enjoyed raising money for vulnerable adults and children in the UK and beyond. The children across the school participated in a series of lessons to learn about how this charity aims to reduce levels of poverty around the world. As a school we also raised an amazing £313.84 through donations and sponsored sports! Thank you to everyone who donated and participated it has been greatly appreciated.
Supporting different charities is a crucial part of our children’s SMSC development and once again we would like to thank everyone for supporting this year’s Children in Need. As a school, we have fundraised £ 226.20 and we look forward to showcasing individual children’s fundraising.
The whole school came to school wearing different colours to show awareness and be bright and bold for Brake. The children explored what this charity does and brought in a donation to help people. They learnt how to keep safe on the roads.
As a school we have supported Operation Christmas Child by asking our families to pack a shoebox for children around the world. By creating our shoeboxes and sending these we are able to spread joy and happiness to others at Christmastime. This links to SMSC as we have explored differences and supported people around the world.
As a school we supported Young Minds by dressing in yellow and sending a donation. The children also learnt about mental health and understood the importance of this by focussing on positive mental wellbeing.The children shared who they could turn to for support.
Every child participated in the Race for Life and received a medal after completing their set distance. It was fantastic to see everyone involved and raising money for a great cause. We also held a ‘Macmillan Coffee Morning’ in which it was wonderful to see so many of our parents/carers and children supporting this fantastic event and fundraiser. Thank you to all the parents, carers, families and friends who attended – your generosity is greatly appreciated, and we have raised £1,040 for charity. This is an amazing achievement, and we certainly would not have been able to achieve this without your contributions.
The children came into school dressed with a splash of red to show awareness for Comic Relief. The children also brought in a donation which was given to the charity to support others in need.
The children created their shoes boxes to send to someone in need at home and brought this into school ready for collection. There were 80 shoe boxes filled with a range of kind donations by the children and their families.
The children raised £318 to support Children in Need. The children came to school wearing something spotty and engaged in a range of activities to develop their understanding around this charity and how it supports others.
