The government provides extra funding to improve the Physical Education (PE) and Sports programmes offered by primary schools, and is provided jointly by various governmental departments, including Education, Health and Culture, and Media and Sport.
P.E. and school sport play a very important part in the life of Golborne Community Primary School. We believe that P.E. and school sport contribute to the holistic development of our children and through participation, our children build and learn more about our key values such as ambition, pride, respect and resilience.
To increase the percentages of pupils that can: swim 25m, using a range of strokes, use a range of strokes effectively, and perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situation, the Year 6 children will be attending catch-up lessons from February-July, giving them the opportunity to meet the aforementioned.
