During the Autumn term, the children will develop their skills across the curriculum and learn many new facts. In Geography the children will be learning about the local area linked to the children’s world and their area. In History, the children will learn about the events linked to London’s Burning. In Science, the children will be exploring Animals including Humans developing the knowledge further.
The children will be given a half-termly spelling list (separated into weeks) linked to specific spelling rules/patterns or Phonics based spellings each week. Each Friday the children will complete a spelling test, a sample of the weekly focus words will be tested (not every single word listed from that week) as well as words from prior weeks. You can also find the statutory spellings for each year group on the School Website for the children to access and practise at home along with accessing Spelling Shed. Homework will be online TT Rock Stars for Maths.
All children are required to wear their full school uniform (including black school shoes) each day please, washed as much as possible. PE kits are necessary on your child’s set PE day, this will be a Wednesday. The children should come to school on their PE day wearing their full PE kit.
A Free School Meal (FSM) will be provided to those children who are entitled to one. Pupils in Reception and Key Stage One will receive a school meal, free of charge, under the Universal Infant Free School Meal (UIFSM) policy. All meals provided in school will be a choice of a healthy packed lunch or a hot meal. At this time, we will not be accepting any cash payments to provide your child with a school meal. As always, we remain a healthy school and would ask that you please do not send in fizzy drinks or sweets in your child’s lunch bag.
