It includes breaks, but not optional before or after school activities. | Frequently Asked Question https://www.golbornecps.org.uk/parents-carers/frequently-asked-questions/ What time does school start? The school gates open at 8:25am. We would encourage children to be on the school playground as per the drop off and pick up arrangements to avoid lateness and the stresses this can bring. If children arrive after their class door has closed, they must enter school using the main entrance, where they will be greeted by a member of staff who will ensure they are signed in at the time of arrival. If children arrive after the doors have closed they will be marked in with an ‘Authorised Late (L)’ and if they are late by more than 30 minutes after their start time they will be marked in with an ‘Unauthorised Late (U)’. At the end of the day the school gates close at 3:20pm. School is open for a minimum of 32.5 hours each school week. We have staggered start and finish times which are: Nursery and Reception – 8:30am – 3pm Key Stage 1 – 8:35am – 3:05pm Lower Key Stage 2 – 8:40am – 3:10pm Upper Key Stage 2 – 8:45am – 3:15pm |

An environment where children are encouraged to try their best and are praised for their efforts. Where high expectations are encouraged the development of the whole child is valued. We believe that through effective experiences and partnerships we can support and develop the individual, giving them skills they need to be independent, confident learners, capable of expressing themselves and with the ability to integrate into the community. School Ethos Our constant aim is to facilitate children’s learning in a warm, encouraging and respectful community existing in a quality and stimulating environment. Our ethos relies heavily on the concept of independent learning and self-discipline. We hope to develop in all children the desire to learn and the ability to apply their knowledge. At the same time we want to help each child find the self-esteem and confidence that are so necessary to live a full and happy life. Through first-hand experiences and subsequent understanding, we wish to cultivate in all our children not only the need to learn but also a pride in their work, respect for the surroundings and good relationships with others at home and at school. ‘Enjoy each day as we learn along the way’ Values https://www.golbornecps.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/9CA65FA1-D92C-165D-59C56EA0CBC742A1.jpg Daily our school values are linked to British Values. |
